The INTUWALK Method

shifts training from compensatory to CORRECTIVE over time

  • COMPENSATORY TRAINING

As the body initially recovers, COMPENSATORY training with adaptive walking strategies must be used to assist the person to safely discharge home from the hospital.

  • CORRECTIVE TRAINING

After 6 months to a year, the person may be ready for CORRECTIVE training to regain correct alignment, endurance, and movement control for a stronger walking foundation for the rest of their life. Without corrective training, the person's recovery hits a plateau.

CAN A STROKE SURVIVOR STILL IMPROVE AFTER MANY YEARS?
